Unified Messaging with Domino users are getting email read receipts

Some users are getting an email read receipt when checking voicemail. I am using DUC version 1.2.4 with Domino 8 and Unity 5.

One of the users experiencing the issue is using Notes version 7. One of the users not experiencing the issue is using Notes version 8.

Is there a way to disable this globally so Unity will not play the email read receipts?

By the way, the customer does not want to create rules to send the receipts to sub folders.
