Hi,
I am using a Cisco 877 for the Internet and VPN's, sometimes it disconnects from the Internet, what commands can I use to see if the DSL line is up and whether I have authenticated etc or not?
Thanks

Hi, first one to try would be
"sh dsl int atm 0".
A few lines down in the output is the modem status - look for SHOWTIME.
If that looks ok run a "sh int dialer 1"
and scroll down to the virtual-access entry, if that is up/up then you should be authenticated.
Also have a look in the logs after it disconnects, there may be some info there.
"sh logg".

Thanks
I have:
Bound to:
Virtual-Access2 is up, line protocol is up
What is the virtual access 2?

It's a virtual interface that takes it's characteristics from the dialer int.
It looks to be physically running. What does the logg say and can you paste the full output from the sh dialer 1 command?
