I have 1130 seies AP installed quite close to my test laptop machine. I have already connected my laptop to internal WLAN without any issue.
The I have another 1130 AP , about 3m away from my laptop. Ass sson as I power on the second AP, I can see my Laptop client getting connected to second AP.
Shouldn't it stay connected to the closest AP ? Any expanations ?

The client will connect to the best signal it see's. Maybe the ap next to you is too close... Put the original ap 3m away and the second ap 5m or more away and see what happens. Also take a look at the driver loaded on the client device... might help especially if it is old.

Thanks for the answer. Does it cause problems when AP is too close ? Is there any minimum distance that we should keep between the AP and the client ?

Hi Nalaka,
client association to 1130 Ap question
It's a good idea to place APs at least 3m away from each other
