Alerts and Activities indicates that a port has exceeded the error rate threshold but looking at the port no errors appear, but port does indicate giants as being present.
The error rate for an ethernet port includes the following:

dot3StatsCarrierSenseErrors
dot3StatsInternalMacTransmitErrors
So giants are counted here.
