6506 from CATos to IOS

I have a 6506 i need to upgrade to IOS and Layer 3

it has

can i get the MSFC and add it to the Sup or do I need a new sup that already has the MSFC

You can buy the MSFC1 doughter card and added to that sup for routing function, but if you have a spare one with MSFC card you can use that one but I would suggest if you have dual sups for redundancy that both have the same MSFC card for L2/L3 failover as well as consistency.
