Hi,
Want to understand the difference b/w to GPL SKUs:
{
Part Number: MCS-7816-I3-IPC1
Description: HW Only MCS-7816-I3 with 2GB RAM and One 160GB SATA HD
and
Part Number: MCS7816I3-K9-CMB2
Description: Unified CM 6.1 7816-I3 Appliance, 0 Seats
}
The price is the same for both entries. The hardware, I think, is also
similar. I suppose the first one (MCS-7816-I3-IPC1) does not contain any
CD/DVD software package. Whereas the second one (MCS7816I3-K9-CMB2) does.
Am I right ?
Are there any other differences ?

Hey Tobivan,
Life is great here! Hopefully for you as well :)
The "CMA/CMB" designation on the Part# does indicate a "pre-loaded" appliance. So yes, this server would be shipped with the Linux OS and Communications Manager 6.1 pre-loaded. The "IPC1" Version will not ship with any CCM discs and they will need to be ordered seperately :)
Here are some examples;
The server appliance is preinstalled with an operating system and the Cisco Unified Communications Manager application. Cisco Unified Communications Manager is fully operational upon startup, requiring entry of just a few configuration variables such as IP address and domain.
Product part number
MCS7816H3-K9-CMB2
Preload
Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1
OS
Included
CMB1 = Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0
CMB2 = Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1
CMA2 = Cisco Unified Communications Manager 5.1
Hope this helps!

Hey Tobivan,
Hope all is well my friend! Maybe after my mistakes from last week I should steer clear but....
The MCS7816I3-K9-CMB2 is actually a "pre-loaded" Appliance with CCM 6.1
MCS-7816-I3-IPC1
MCS7816I3-K9-CMB2 = Unified CM 6.1 7816-I3 Appliance, 0 Seats

Hope this helps!

Hey, Rob.
I hope you are fine.
When you saying 'the MCS7816I3-K9-CMB2 is a "pre-loaded" appliance with CUCM 6.1'
you mean that I got the server in the box that has already CUCM installed as Operating
System by vendor ? Or I got only server with DVD discs with CUCM software that I must install manually ?
Also does MCS-7816-I3-IPC1 contain any discs in the box ?
Thank you.

Hi,
MCS-7816-I3-IPC1 is a server ready for Call Manager 4.x which is Windows based.
MCS7816I3-K9-CMB2 is a server ready for Call Manager version 6.1 which is Linux based.
No CD/DVD is available with either models.
Hope this answers your queries.
