Add a 2-port Ethernet adapter to Cisco 7204VXR router

Hi, I'm planning to install a 2-port Ethernet port adapter to my production 7204VXR WAN router. From online document it seems the 7204VXR supports OIR (online insert and remove) so no router shutdown/reboot required. Has someone done this before and was it a success? Anything that you could share and I need to be cautious of? Thanks in advance. - Joseph

We have done it in our production 7204 VXR without any issue as long your IOS supports it and you dont exceed B/W capacity.

Thanks for the reply. My IOS is 12.4(13a). The online document says the minimal requirement is 12.2(3) or later. It does mention minimal requirement for other IOS trains (e.g. 12.1(5)E and 12.2(4)B). So I think I should be good to go??
