Packet Tracer

Will the packet tracer work if a interface is down? My understanding is that I can use this to test my configuration before bringing everything up. Is this correct?

Thank you,

Travis

I guess I have a problem then. I will open a new post for that problem.

Thank you,

Hi ,

Looks like I had my inside interface down and outside up when I initiated packet tracer from inside to outside.....

I think because of outside interface being down, the route outside command is not working......

If you do a " sh route ",you would not see it as outside interface is down....

Just attach a cable to the outside interface and try packet tracer again....
