Hi,

I am going to set up the below topology with Cisco ASA5505 and Linksys vpn router (RV042). In ASA5505 WAN interface I have assign ip address 38.99.183.106/24 that connected to the internet. I want to use rest of the ip address like 38.99.183.121, 38.99.183.122 to our desktop which are connected to the Linksys router. Linksys router is also connected to the internet through public ip address.

Topology

ASA5505 (WAN IP 38.99.183.106) ----- (Internet) ---- (WAN IP 203.88.98.254) Linksys---- (LAN 38.99.183.121)

If possible please give me some config level guide line to build the network.

Hello!

This cannot work like this with ASA and Linksys (btw, does your linksys support IPSec?).

Yout IP 38.99.183.106 is tunnel end on one peer and you want to use the same subnet for LAN on other peer.Usually (with IPSec) this should look like this

LAN subnet(1.1.1.0/24)-->ASA(gw 1.1.1.1 / 38.99.183.106 outside int)-->Internet--> Linksys(203.88.98.254 outside int / gw 2.2.2.1)--->LAN subnet (2.2.2.0/24)

The LAN subnet are only as example. In this way you have communication secure communication between 2 subnet (usually private one) over the Internet.

This is want you want? Or you want that the LAN in the back o Linkys to have Internet connectivity through ASA? Because for this you need PPTP not IPSec.

Please give some more details.

Cheers,

Calin

Hi Calin,

Thanks for the update. My linksys router support IPsec and I am not communicate between 2 subnet that i have mentioned. I want to assign rest of the ip address in my desktop from 38.99.183.106/24 network where 38.99.183.106 works as a gw for the desktops.

Please let me know if you have any query regarding the issue?

Regards,

Mamun
