will the 1220b series AP support wpa2?

Correct Answer by jeff.kish about 8 years 5 months ago

Cisco B radios do not support WPA2, because new hardware is required to support AES encryption.

Upgrading to a G radio should work, but it would be good to research that and find out for sure before purchasing a new radio.

No!

Cisco Aironet 802.11b access points are

not upgradeable to support WPA2 and AES.

G radio supports WPA2 AES

Radio modules with the part numbers AIR-RM21A AIR-RM22A support WPA2 AES

but RM20A and B radio don;t support WPA2.
