We just purchased a small company and we need to provide a vpn tunnel between the two of us. They currenty have a 6+ year old netscreen firewall for vpn/security. My thoughts were either place a cisco 1841 inside their firewall to create a tunnel with us, or replace their current firewall with a low end ASA. Any thoughts?

There may be some other aspects of your situation of which we are not aware. But based on what you describe about acquisition of a small company I assume that you want to integrate that small company into your infrastructure. And to do that some LAN to LAN VPN which also had the ability to run a routing protocol between the remote site and your main site would seem to be needed. I believe that an 1841 inside their firewall would accomplish this while just replacing their old firewall with an ASA would not.
