I am getting an erro when trying to open the ASDM to manage my 5520. I did upgrade my Java recently so I tried removing and reinstalling but I get the same error. Weird thing is that I am getting the same error from any computer I try, even with different versions of Java. Java Console error is below:

Hi,

I did some research and found this Micorosft uninstall utility.

Please go to the link below and try this-

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

and download the 'uninstall utility '.Use Windows Install Cleanup utility which would enable you to clear the registry entries of the old version. Then manually delete the ADSM folder under C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems and then you should be able to install the new version by going

to https://x.x.x.x

X.x.x.x would be the ip address of ASA.

Do rate helpful posts. :)

Regards,

Sushil

I am not sure what using that tool would do, it is happening on ANY computer i try to connect from. I am able to connect to other ASA firewalls with no problem so the issue appears to be something the ASDM is reading from this particular ASA.

Absolutely,

I was assuming these symptoms and you just confirmed it.

Basically, you will go for a fresh install which works everywhere ( for every asa ).

Try it on one comp.,if works ,try on others too.

Sushil

I am getting the same error. I followed your suggestion, but reinstalling changed nothing.

This tells me f/w uptime is 1 year 2.

there is a known issue with asdm when uptime is more then one year. The workaround for now is to reload the asa so that uptime gets back to zero.
