CCNA studies - which router did you use?

Unanswered Question

Hi,

I'm studying for my CCNA (ICND1 and 2). I've been told it's good to have 2 switches and 2 routers to play about with.

1.) I have 1 x Cisco 2950 and will try and buy another from ebay - good choice?

2.) I think I can get a Cisco 2610 or Cisco 2620 - good choice?

3.) I need another router would another 2600 series bo ok?

4.) I am told I need 2 serial ports on each router, I think the Cisco 2600 series routers I'm looking at come with 1 x WIC-1T, can I insert another WIC-1T or do I need to buy a WIC-2T.

Summary for my CCNA lab

2 x Cisco Catalyst 2950's

2 x Cisco 2600 series routers with 1 or 2 serials

Thanks

My .02 if your buying via ebay as I did the same and screwed up buying only 25xx not think for future studies where I needed 26xx's

at least 2 3550's

2511 comserver

2524 I think has like 8 serial port for a FR switch or a 4000 with 4 port serial modules

26xx with 2 port serial wic's and a FE ports so you can do trunking to the 35xx

I got all my serial cables off of ebay and HongKong for cheep and I never had any problem with any of em

Thx Steve

I think the 2620 I'm getting only has 1 wic, can I add another?

Sorry I have yet to learn, but why would I trunk a 26xx to a 25xx switch? I take it this is just like connecting an ethernet into the FE of the 26xx to the 2550 link an uplink to pass vlan information?
