I need some help with the following:
switch# show adjacency fastethernet 6/1
protocol int address
ip f6/1 100.100.100.1(9)
What is"9" in the above line?

epoch:0
what is epoch in the aboce line?

Thats the protocol number at which the adjecency is happening.Check this out

I'm not sure it does. According to the doc i posted the number in brackets after the IP address is the number of times this adjacency is pointed to by FIB entries.
