1801 Router & Ports

Hi all,

How can I configure my 1801 ADSL Router, to direct traffic arriving for specific ports, to specific devices attached to the switch.

For example...

Attached to the Switch on the 1801 Router is VPNServ01 and Exchange01.

I want all TCP 25 Packets to go to the Exchange01, and the VPN-Related traffic to be directed to VPNServ01.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Chris,

what you need are static NAT statements that can be port specific.

ip nat inside source static tcp local-ip local-port interface global-port

this should be fine for the email server.

For the vpn traffic you can use also a pool and NAT overload of the public ip address on the wan interface.

But it also depends from the VPN technology you are using.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi there,

Thanks, already given me a start on the solution.

In terms of VPN technologies, its just a standard Windows 2003 R2 acting as a VPN server. Just need to push the PPTP protocol packets towards it with the Router.

Thanks for the help so far!

Chris.
