Which TFTP server are you using on the XP machine?

How big is the file you are trying to upload?

I like the 3cDaemon (version 2.10), it's never failed me, and it doesn't have the 32 Meg limit that most of the other servers do (like SolarWind)

Chances are you have not given the server a/the proper directory. It's usually easier to assign a default directory in the server application, then that appears as root ("/") to the client.

Good Luck

I use tftpd32, simple and efficient (works with files over 32 MB too). You don't even have to install it, so you can just have it on a USB key along with your favorite IOS files, and launch it from there on whatever computer you're using at the time.
