Good day

I am struggling to improve the voice quality over a point to point link. I have 2 asterisk servers which are connected with a 256k link between office A and B. The moment when the line gets busy the voice quality gets very bad.

I enabled ip header compression on both the routers and I would like to give high priority to UDP traffic.

I used the following commands , this is on a 1701 CISCO router running ver12.1

For Header compression:

ip tcp header-compression iphc-format

ip rtp header-compression iphc-format

ip rtp compression-connections 100

I used the follolwing commands to prioritize UDP traffic;

R1(config)#priority-list 1 default low

R1(config)#priority-list 1 UDP high

The router does not seem to support this line. I would appreciate any assistance regarding the correct commands for traffic prioritization. I am not sure if this is the correct way to do this either.

Any help would be highly appreciated
