Solved: alternate port in rstp

hi every body!

I just want to know if alternate port on a switch misses tree bpdu, will the switch put the alternate port immediately in forwarding state?

Hi Sarah,

RSTP or MST will change the role to designated, but the state would still be discarding in that case. You would need to miss BPDUs for 30 additional seconds in order to go forwarding.
