Cisco 877W Config

Hi there,

I am new with cisco configuration facing some issues related to port forwarding wondering if someone can help.

* We are using SDM to configure the router.

* We want to manage Cisco 877W through LAN and remote source with SDM/ http.

* We have a Windows small business server 2003 server on LAN so want to NAT/ forward ports 443 and 80 for Server's use for webmail/ sharepoint etc.

As i understand both port 80 and 443 are used by SDM, so how can we achieve the above result?

On our existing router we change the management port (http:) form 80 to :8080 and NAT 80 to LAN for Server's use.

Hi ewssltd24,

Im not able to give a step by step not in the office at the moment but hope this helps.

What you are trying to do is forward external WAN address:443 and 80 to internal SBS Address:8080 and 80 without it being affected by the ACLs and Firewall.

If you are using ADSL or similar with a DIALER in SDM under the NAT tab you create a new translation rule.

As a source select interface "Dialer" with the port after that set the destination address as the SBS address with the port.

This needs to be done twice once for each port you wish to open.

If this doesn't "translate" (work) then create an explicit firewall rule to allow the communication from external:xx to internal:xx and internal:xx to external:xx

Also check the (access control lists) ACLs to make sure that the ports and addresses aren't restricted (this is done easier in console.

I know this isn't exactly step by step, but this is the general idea on how to get it done. If you keep having problems please let me know, I can get you a more detailed guide up later today.
