Multiple Site cutover opinions

just wanted to gain some insight into how you guys handle this. i have a 16 site cutover to do tomorrow. they are currently on CCM 4.0 and we are carrying them to 6.1. everything is tested, working as it should etc. same ip addressing as well.

my only concern is when the phones try to do the upgrade of thier firmaware over the WAN (400 phones total) and somethnig were to happen, i dont want to end up with a lot of dead phones.

my plan is to shut down the ethernet links of each location and bring them up one at a time. so once all the phones are fine at the first site, i then re-enable the other site and check the phones, etc etc.

im just looking for some opinions. basically, ive seen 10 phones go dead (long time ago) after a cutover so now im always a little bit paranoid :)

Your options sounds good, you can also upgrade firmware to the one ur 6.1 version will use before the upgrade by hardcoding the firmware in the Phone itself site by site using BAT tool.

Local TFTP is always good as well.

Peer sharing feature is also nice option.
