Changing root bridge for VLAN

Hi,

I am planning to change the root bridge for one of the VLAN by giving prioty in core SW span-tree prioty vlan x..

At the time of chageing root bridge. ..will it effect on VLAN particule VLAN means down/fluctuation etc..

It should trigger STP recalc. That may cause up to 50 sec down time in the worst case of standard STP, unless ou have RSTP configured.

i agree with victor. you may want to schedule a maintenance window for this implementation as it would affect your production network. at least downtime of 50 sec for standard STP and 30 sec for RSTP depending on your network topology for a particular vlan.
