Can the 7970G support any form of 802.1x authentication? I beleive the firmware is 7970_64060118.bin. Do I need to upgrade the firmware to do this?

Hi.
Yes it works with us for a while, but it was a long way. Phone firmware alone does not solve anything. Switch IOS was also needed to upgrade and especially the ROM.
Simple dot1x will work flawlessly, while handling the different VLANs during the various phases will give you trouble when not having everything in order (IOS, CDP etc.)

So if I am using Cisco Call Express Version 3.4 on a 2811 router running IOS 12.4(4T) does that mean I have to upgradde? or can I just upgrade the firmware of the phone to 8.2(1)??
