Hi Guys,
i was trying to find an answer to this question on all over Cisco.com but couldnt find anything. i was wondering if anybody in this forum can help me.
in QOS if i configure a class-map and match some protocol and in policy-map i call that class but dont set any action like shaping or policing .
what will happen to that protocol ?
Example
i match tcp as protocol in class-map TCP
and in policy map i recall that class-map and dont give reserve any resources for this .
and in clas-default i configure shape 512kb.
will that TCP traffic be shaped ?
i hope my question is not too complicated.
regards

As an input policy, should have any effect.
As an output policy, won't shape traffic, but if you don't define a bandwidth statement, it's unclear what proportion of the bandwith the class would obtain if it competes with other class traffic.

Lets say this is an outbound policy

if u calssify it and called it in the policy map but no action has been taken the action on the defual class will be considered

The traffic classified by that class, will be considered under class-default , if we don't add any action statement ???
