I'm tired of adjacency rediscovery because GRE downs/ups an interface to force EIGRP to discover routes again after EIGRP mistankenly accepts a route to a distance tunnel loopback via the tunnel. I want to increase the EIGRP hold timers to greater than that to stop GRE from forcing my network from converging so many times a day. How long does it take for GRE to shut down/up an interface? I will then increase the hold timer to greater than that interval.
Why don't you block tunnel destination whic it is learning from tunnel itself? You can use distribute-list or distance commands to stop learning destination routes in EIGRP.
