Bandwith limit per user

I have a router 2811 which is connected to the Internet through adsl line. Behind the router there is a network with several PCs on the subnet 192.168.1.0/24. How can i limit the bandwidth for each user and not the entire subnet to 100 kbps for any traffic going out to the Internet?

There is no specific way to do this per user - but you could police and shape the traffic based on source IP address or traffic type (tcp/udp port numbers or Protocols)

If i police or shape per protocol, let's say http protocol. My adsl line is 10 mbps download. I give to http protocol 100 kbps bandwidth. Assume that at a specific time 10 users ask for http downloads. Will each user download with 100 kbps or all 10 users will share the 100 kbps bandwidth. Can you give me a sample how to do this?

there are multiple ways to do this - what exactly are you tying to do. You cannot just turn QoS on without planning what you want.

If you just want to limit a certain amount of BW per protocol, cool. BUT you must remember you cannot limit how much a person or group of people can D/L. QoS was designed to stop the staturation of transmission OUTBOUND on a link - you cannot limit/reduce the INBOUND.
