Hey All,
I have cmm 5.1.1
I'm wanting to update the firmware of 7961 and 7941 phones.
I noticed on cisco, it has the below 2 files
cmterm-7941_7961-sccp.8-4-1SR1.cop
cmterm-7941_7961-sccp.8-4-1SR1.cop.sgn
When i Click on the install/update pull down list then click install upgrade and fill in the FTP information and path to the file, it will only find the .cop.sgn file..
So my question is what is the difference between the two files?
And is there ann easy way to role back the phone firmware to the previous version? As i noticed it updated the device defaults page as well.
Many Thanks :)

Hi,
You have to use the cmterm-7941_7961-sccp.8-4-1SR1.cop.sgn only For Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0(4) and later
Difference :-
⢠For Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0(1), 5.0(2), and 5.0(3):
cmterm-7970_7971-sip.8-4-1sr1.cop
cmterm-7941_7961-sip.8-4-1sr1.cop
cmterm-7911_7906-sip.8-4-1sr1.cop
⢠For Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0(4) and later:
cmterm-7970_7971-sip.8-4-1sr1.cop.sgn
cmterm-7941_7961-sip.8-4-1sr1.cop.sgn
cmterm-7911_7906-sip.8-4-1sr1.cop.sgn
⢠For Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0(1):
cmterm-7931-sip.8-4-1sr1.cop.sgn
You can rollback to role back the phone firmware to the previous version by key in the old firmware file name in device defaults page and updated .It ask to reset the phones .
If you want test it do it for one phone by enter the old firmware in the phone configuration page and update

thanks for that :)
I'm assuming it will only update the end phone one they're rebooted..
How many phones can be upgraded at once with out putting too much load on the tftp server?

You can upgrade all the phones .It will support.
Note: Do it off busy hours ,If it above 500 phones then Get the phone count os ip phones from RTMT /Perfmon And if possible take the CAM table in the all switch what are the phones connected to switch .It will useful when any phone not register, you will need to shut /unshut the port to bring the phone up
