Cant get in the switch through console..

Ok this is a basic question,

But how come i can not get into this new 3750G switch through console... i made sure all my settings are correct ?

Hi if you are using console port on the switch make sure have an serial connection from your pc or laptop and not the ethernet connection from pc or laptop..

Please change the laptop and console cable or

Please try another switch with this laptop and console cable.

FYI we had console problems with a couple 3750Gs running certain older versions of IOS. Once we upgraded to a version that supported SSH to meet our new security requirements the issue resolved itself. No amount of reloading or power-cycling would bring the console port to life on the old IOS. It was a bug.

I'd open a TAC case and get them to recommend a version that has the proper feature-set and doesn't have this console bug.
