2600 vs 2800 for QoS best performance

Has anyone had experience with implementing QoS on the 2600 series? Specifically the 2621XM and comparing it's performance with other models such as the 2811 or 2821 models? Just curious if anyone has ran into issues with performance issues asscoiated with QoS on the 2621XM.

Thanks

I can not speak authoritatively about performance of QOS on 2600 routers. But if the question of performance of QOS on 2600 vs 2811 or 2821 then the 2800 will perform quite a bit better.

I believe I have, although not, I also recall, with the XM variants. Have lots of recent experience with QoS on the 2800 series.

As Rick notes, the 2800 series are much faster. For instance, the 2621XM is fast path rated at about 30 Kpps, while the 2811 and 2821 similar ratings are 120 Kbps and 170 Kbps.

When I had worked with the 2600 series, also recall the IOS was 12.0. With 2800 series I use 12.4 or sometimes even 12.4T. Many, many feature additions or improvements, including some QoS related.

Don't recall performance issues with the 2600 series, but at the time, they were often only driving fractional T-1. With 2811s, I commonly see them running QoS with up to four bundled T-1s without a problem. The only 2811 I've seen run out of performance has been one that's connected to a T-3.
