I have many IOS switches with ver 12.1, those switchws had been discovery and shown in the hotspot graph, but not shown in the layer 2 path mitigation graph. Does the MARS layer 2 path mitigation support IOS switch with ver 12.1?
I hope you have already made sure that you have cdp and Spanning tree enabled on your switches. Also, you need to give (telnet/ssh) access of your switches to MARS in ordert to make him understand the config and generate enforcement policy for you(not sure if that covers your scenario).
For us it does not even work on 12.2.x(2960,3560 switches) left alone 12.1.x.
I raised this issue in the ASK THE EXPERT issue but it was carefully ignored :)
