Hi all,

We use Cisco IP 7960 Series phones in our building. I have been given the task of setting up 12 Cisco IP Conference Stations Model 7937 and the demo model I was sent is not working. It won't even power up.

Any ideas what wrong? Is it not compatible with our Call Manager?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Clark,

You won't love this, but I thought you should see it anyways. Unfortunatly the 7937G requires IEEE 802.3af PoE and I'm guessing that you may be using something like the 3550 - 24 PWR which only supports Cisco prestandard PoE and . Here are a few reference docs with this note;

Cisco PoE Product Snapshot

Power Requirements

The Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7937G is interoperable IEEE 802.3af PoE (Class 3 device); 48 VDC is required; it can be supplied locally at the desktop using an optional AC-to-DC power supply (part number CP-PWR-CUBE-3=). Use of the power supply also requires the Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7937G Power Splitter and one of the corresponding AC country cords

Power over Ethernet (PoE) Power Requirements FAQ - This shows other Class 3 IP Phones that won't work on a 3550 (the 7937 is too new for this doc, but you see where this is going)

Hope this helps! I know its a bummer :(
