disabling routing on Cisco 6500s (12.2(18)SXF7

Hi Guys,

Noticed that there is no command "no ip routing" to disable routing on a 6500 running 12.2(18)SXF7!! How is this easily done, since we are just looking at having it run in L2 fashion.

Any insights would be useful.

That is normal on the 6500 , just don't create any layer 3 SVI's or routed ports and you have a layer 2 switch .

I agree with Glen. Since you are unable to disable the "ip routing" function of the switch just don't use the layer 3 features. You will still be able to use the layer 2 capabilities as well.

Agree with Glen and Mark but the other option is to run only CatOS on the supervisor and then you do not have L3 functionality that could be accidentally enabled.
