Hi Guys, need assistance with our Remote Access Vpn solution that i've just implemented.

We are running ASA5200's running v8.0 since getting IPSEC VPN to work, i've noticed that average latency from the mobile laptop to HQ is at times 200+milliseconds. THis is a result even 10 Km's from HQ. We are using Wireless 3G cards, but are achieving a supposed '7.2mb' connection, and this is still the case.

Is there any special configs that i need to enable to alleviate this?

I have this problem too.

1.Figure out whether all resources/hosts of HQ are giving 200+ latency from mobile laptop

2.Once you know whether all resource having 200+ latency, then start collecting latency data hop by hop

3.See the latency from edge router of the LAN to the resource/host

4.See the latency from firewall to the resource/host

5.See the latency from Edge router to resource/host.

6.Once you collect the data , see which hop is giving maximum latency, or compare the all hop latency, focus on the device which is giving more latency.

7.Also see if laptop is connecting to Internet with wired connection instead wireless , what is the latency.

8.If firewall is causing high latency , paste the config.

HTH...rate if helpful..
