Classic Question: SSL VPN Client and Vista 64-bit OS

Hardware: 64-bit architecture Software: Windows Vista Home (64-bit) Cisco Hardware: 871w Router Cisco Software: 12.4T Having a challenge with Windows Vista (64) in using the SSL based VPN. Using IE,I can browse to the url, both using DNS name and IP address. I do not have a signed certificate, so I get the standard warning screen where you have to click the red x to continue. At this point the progress bar moves for a split second and just sits there. For troubleshooting I tried: - clearing cookies, cache etc - added url and IP address to Trusted Zone - reset remainder zones to default - disabled IE7 pop-up and phisher options - disabled any 3rd party BHO using manager - removing MacAfee software suite - disabling User Control This allowed me to get to the sign in page, but after signing in - I got a blank white screen. Next, I downloaded Firefox 3.0 (newest) and attempted the connection. After a series of prompts to accept and download the certificate, I was able to login and click the start button to initiate the session. The next little screen came up as expected and it selected Java. I received a message that it could not install the Cisco AnyConnect Client and that I had to download it manually. Downloaded and installed the client software. Logging out of the browser and closing it - I was unable to access the page again. It appeared to hang again with a progress bar. I proceeded to empty cache, cookies, passwords etc within Firefox and reloaded the application. Once again, I was able to connect. However, I still received the message that the client could not install and download manually. For kicks, I exported the certificate to the desktop and imported it within Internet Explorer. I attempted the connection again with IE, but had a similar issue. I was told there was no IPSEC client for 64-bit OS (Vista to boot), yet most of the new machines are 64-bit OS systems. I would appreciate any support. Lucky me, as the computer that is unable to connect to the VPN is at the home of the CEO of the company. The last person one wishes to make unhappy.
