Unity Server Replacement-Unity 4.0 build 4.0(4) SR1

Hi,

My customer wants to replace the unity server installed with Unity 4.0 build 4.0(4) SR1 for voicemail(exchange 2000 as the message store).

Has anybody done it?What are the steps/risks involved?

Is there any document available(any url?)

Hi,

I've attached the installation guide from Cisco:

This is for Unity 4.0(4) integrated with Exchange..

The installation basically involves:

* extending the schema

* creating service accounts in AD and settings up Exchange

* Installing the OS and Unity software

* Re-importing or re-creating the Unity information

What version are you upgrading from?

I am just doing a hardware replacement of the server, not the unity version upgrade.

the server is currently installed with

Unity Server Replacement-Unity 4.0 build 4.0(4) SR1.

Sorry for the late reply.

If you're doing a hardware replacement you will still need the installation guide as the software and OS will need installing on the new MCS server.

You'll need all the installation disks as well, hopefully you have them?

Basically, you'll need to export all the data off the old server, build the new one and re-import everything. Or, you can do a fresh install.....

The best way is to do a DiRT back up and restore if your versions of Unity are the same.
