FWSM: Static routing & Allowing Dynamic routing

Hi,

FWSM outside connects to a Router

FWSM inside connects to a Router and an ACE

At present FWSM uses static routing.

We want to allow RIP routing process between the two routers, through the FWSM, while continue to use static routing for other requirements.

Any pointers to how to pass RIP through FWSM or even if we can route RIP in FWSM, would be appriciated.

Is your FWSM in routed or transparent mode. If routed mode then your firewall would need to participate in RIP exchange routes with both routers. The FWSM can support RIP.

Note that the FWSM only supports dynamic routing protocols of you are in single mode. If you are in multi mode then you only have static routing as an option.

If you are in transparent mode then you can simply allow RIP updates between the 2 routers through/

Jon, Thank you,

FWSM in Routed mode,

currently using Single context

I would like to view some config samples of RIP routing via FWSM.

I'm also going to look at tagging some bgp routes in the ouside router and use them with RIP routing.
