Hello,

We suddenly have no moh file anymore...when phone A puts phone B on hold,nothing is heard...only silence.

In the trace file:

The file is still there.I checked that in the MOH audio source menu.However,i can not find the file in the TFTP management menu.Is it normal,could that be the cause?

Anyone who has an idea?

Kurt

I have this problem too.

Hi Kurt,

If you go to Media Resources > MOHAudio Management, does the file show as "in use"?

Also, are you multicasting the MOH?

Probably best to re-compress another file and upload it for quick resolution as it looks like it may be a problem with the file (looking at the output you've provided).

Hi Tim,

If you go to Media Resources > MOHAudio Management, does the file show as "in use"?

--> YES

Also, are you multicasting the MOH?

--> NO

Probably best to re-compress another file and upload it for quick resolution as it looks like it may be a problem with the file (looking at the output you've provided).

--> i'm not sure as the default file "Sampleaudiosource" is not working neither.

I'm going to verify if i see the same error regarding this file too.

Ok, I haven't found any related bugs for this yet.

Have you tried re-starting the Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming app service?

Please rate useful posts..

kurtdeneef Tue, 10/07/2008 - 04:58

If i take a look in the MOHStreamsTotal performace parameter,i can see the total streams incrementing.It does not go down when a stream is inactive.

Maybe that's the problem.

Kurt,

Not sure whether this is the correct behaviour to be honest.

I would definately go with a service re-start first though to see if it improves anything.

Hi Tim,

I already restarted services but nothing changed.

I think i will ask assistance from TAC.

Kind regards,

Kurt

Hello Kurt,

Did you get this solved?

I have exactly the same issue with 6.1.2

thanks,

Bye,

JH

kurtdeneef Fri, 10/10/2008 - 00:54

Hi,

I'm using 6.1.2 also.

No,not yet...Cisco asked me put a new file on the server and test again.

I did that,and the CUCM recompressed it.I applied it to a phone and it worked 1 time.

After that,same result again.Only silence.

Waiting for the nex step.

Hi,

Did you try a reboot of the cluster? This is what we are going to do tonight.

Thanks,

JH

kurtdeneef Fri, 10/10/2008 - 01:08

No,not yet...that's what we want to avoid...

But maybe it could be an option though.

I will propose it to my customer.

If that does not solve the problem,this means that we are facing a severe issue here and i will increasy the priority with Cisco then.

Keep me informed about your rsult too,if you want.

Best regards,

Kurt

Tonight, or maybe late afternoon we do the reboot of the cluster. I shall keep you informed,

Hi

that error looks like the moh file was not found. upload the MOH file on that server 10.5.2.16 from CCM admin page of that server and then restart IPVM service. then try again

hope it helps

The file was just uploaded, restart the service, it works for one call. Then I get that error...

pemelend Tue, 01/20/2009 - 16:13

Hi,

Good, it might have failed the second call because it took another moh server, upload the file to all the servers in your cluster.

yes,that's right.

you need to make sure the MOH file(s) are on both servers as the streaming sometimes comes from the other one too.

scheived Thu, 01/22/2009 - 08:17

I think that was the Issue. Although you can create Audio streams that are active on both servers, the actual file needs to be uploaded to each publisher and subscriber.

David Rickard Wed, 01/28/2009 - 08:46

Well I'm having the exact same issue. I've uploaded one of the music files from the on hold CD that came with 6.1. I've uploaded it to all our nodes, and added it as a resource. It all looks OK, I set it as the MOH source for my phone, and I get silence. Set it back to the others and they work fine.

The logs show this:

01/28/2009 16:34:20.284 VoiceStrm| CIpPlayWav::StartPlaying (7,2,0) *ERROR* Error openning WAV file (/usr/local/cm/moh/Winging_It.ulaw.wav)|

01/28/2009 16:34:20.284 VoiceStrm|-->CIpPlayWav::ErrorCleanup (7,2,0) |

01/28/2009 16:34:20.284 VoiceStrm|<--CIpPlayWav::ErrorCleanup (7,2,0) |

01/28/2009 16:34:20.284 VoiceStrm| CMOHMgr::PlayStream (7,2,0) /usr/local/cm/moh/Winging_It.ulaw.wav failed to start|

I've uploaded it to all nodes though. I went to /ccmadmin on each server, then to the MOH Audio File Management menu, and uploaded the file. It's all very odd!

scheived Wed, 01/28/2009 - 08:52

The fix for me was to enable the Media Streaming App on one server only.

robray_sc Thu, 02/12/2009 - 10:56

Thanks for posting that fix because I had to do the same thing. 5 points for you!

Matheus Lopes Tue, 02/18/2014 - 08:15

Hi,

My Call Manager is on the version 6.1 and i got the same issue, the MoH stopped working and the status on annunciator/ conference/ MoH server are unknown. I also fixed it restarting the Service "Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming App" (Serviceability) on PUB and SUB.

I Hope it helps!!!!
