HWIC Card problem

Hi Everybody,

I am having problems with my 1841 recognizing the ADSL/SDSL HWIC cards. If I install a normal WIC card, then the problem disappears.

First I thought that the problem is the IOS version, but even after upgrading to a higher IOS version, I still have got the same problem.

Here is the show version output:

Actually the code that you are running is 12.4 main line code (c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-21.bin) and the recommended versions were in the T train or the XJ train (both trains are where newer technologies are introduced). So I suspect that you issue is indeed the version of code that you are running. I suggest that you try something recent in the 12.4T train and see if it does not resolve your issue.

Which HWIC card exactly (part number)?

Regards, Thomas

Part no:

HWIC-1ADSL

and

HWIC-2SHDSL

Thanks Thomas!

We have none of those in use currently, so I could not check. On CCO it says

- Minimum IOS Release 12.4(11)XJ

- Recommended IOS Release 12.4(6th)T

- Feature Set IP Base and up

Your IOS should be fine, but you may want to check with the recommended IOS (that is a long shot!).

Regards, Thomas

Thanks Thomas,

Appreciate your help! Can you think of anything other than the IOS that can cause this problem (supposing that the HWIC cards are working)

Cheers,

@

To be honest, not really. I would open a TAC case, there may be a bug for some releases.

Good luck ... Thomas

Thanks Rick!

As you suggested, the T train IOS did the job! :)
