Topology Map w/o CDP

Hi,

Our costumers have more hundred branch. Now the branches are connected via leased line to headquarter.

Nowadays the local TELCO like to introduce new technologies ( like MPLS) which means better prices for costumer. Unfortunetly it does not support the CDP transparency. So the LMS CDP discovery will not work. It is solvable.

On the other hand the topology L2 and other maps will "go to pieces" and be unusable.

This problem will expected at more costumer also.

Any idea?

The LMS Topology Map requires CDP. As you pointed out, with MPLS deployments, there are typically "islands" of campuses on the Topology Map. At this time, there is no fix for this. Admittedly, Campus Manager was never designed for WAN management.

What is the cisco solution in this environment?

Now 3 large bank with more than 2000 branches are using LMS and the new technologies are impending.

They have been satisfied with LMS as yet.
