I have a 7300 router I need to add another T3 card...

Can I just plug in the card without powering down the router, or must I power the router off first then install the card?

Greatly appreciate the help..thanks!

I have this problem too.

Hello Jay,

on cisco c7200 is possible to add and remove PA without powering off the whole chassis.

I would expect the same for c7300 but I will check

but you need to remove the bay board that hosts the PA insert the PA on it and then reinsert

Because individual port adapters do not support OIR, you must first remove the 7300-CC-PA before removing or installing a port adapter. Refer to the "Removing and Installing a 7300-CC-PA" section if you have not already removed the 7300-CC-PA.

The Cisco 7304 router supports online insertion and removal (OIR) of 7300-CC-PAs; therefore, you do not have to power down the router when removing and replacing a 7300-CC-PA on a Cisco 7304 router. The Cisco 7304 router also supports CLI-controlled OIR, which allows for the completion of data traffic before the active interfaces are shut down.

Hope to help
