guys whats the default value of local preference??? secondly we we want to modify the routes (best path selcetion) do we have to do route maps.......local preference is config by the help of route maps or there is another way as well.....thanks

1) The default value is 100.
2) There isn't any other way to apply local-preference in BGP prefixes other than using a route-map.
Under the BGP process, the neighbor command does not have an option to set a local-preference attribute for all routes w/o a route-map.

bgp default local-preference
