Hi all, is it possible to load balance ospf with unequal cost links?

I have this problem too.

Hello Carl,

NO it is not possible with a specific exception described below

EIGRP is the only protocol that provides a mechanism for weighted load-balancing with the variance concept.

With MPLS Traffic Engineering extensions by providing different costs to two tunnels (not auto-announced) to the same destination a form of weighted load-balancing is possible.

In that case OSPF uses the CSPF extensions with special type of LSAs and RSVP-TE sets up the tunnel (reserves an propagates MPLS TE MPLS labels)

Hope to help
