SFP Module Issue

Dear All,

I'm new here. Hope learn from the senior and expert here.

My company have been used CISCO Catalyst 2960G for almost a year, and now suddenly the SFP Module is damage and not doing the redudancy. We already order the SFP but take a week.

So, my question here, can i use 3Com SFP Module into this switch while waiting for the replacement, some say can some say the new switch come with cisco protection security. Which one is true?

Hi

Generally Cisco gears doesnt support 3rd party SFP's.

But you can make use of the below command to try out the installation of 3Com SFP in your box.

service unsupported-transceiver
