Hello!
We bought WLC-2106 and two AP-1121G.
AP-1121G was with autonomous software, so I downloaded software and
switched it to
lightweight mode, but it doesn't work.
I see in controller log :
*Oct 13 09:43:35.437: %LWAPP-6-DISC_RESPONSE_SENT: spam_lrad.c:1327
Discovery Response sent successfully to AP 00:21:55:74:af:82
*Oct 13 09:43:28.916: %DHCP-6-SCOPE_NOT_FOUND: dhcpd.c:167 Dropping
packet from 192.168.22.18 (unable to match to a dhcp scope)
*Oct 13 09:43:28.915: %DHCP-6-SCOPE_NOT_FOUND: dhcpd.c:167 Dropping
packet from 192.168.22.18 (unable to match to a dhcp scope)
Then AP reboots.
192.168.22.18- management interface address.
dhcp.conf for AP:
option space ciscoap;
option ciscoap.vci code 43 = text;
option ciscoap.wcip code 60 = string;
host ap {
hardware ethernet 00:21:55:74:af:82;
fixed-address 192.168.22.20;
option ciscoap.vci "VCI string" ;
option ciscoap.wcip C0:A8:16:12;
}
So I decided to return AP to autonomous mode.
I downloaded image, put it on ftp.
AP got it, rebooted, but seems it is still in lightweight mode- I see
the same messages on controller log and can't reach AP over http.
Could you tell me how can I
return AP to authonomous mode?
Is there any howto for adding AP to wlc2106?
thank you!

Hello!
I returned AP to autonomous mode- problem was in Cisco's way to work with tftp- it downloads not from 10.0.0.2 , but from broadcast address!
Then I converted AP to lightweght mode again.
And still have the same problem.
btw, it is very strange that I can't ping ap_management interface.
Is it normal?

According to the log it’s not getting the DHCP server IP address . Please check if proper network DHCP server scope is defined and AP s connected to proper port.
There are many methods to convert the Lightweight to autonomous.
Please check the below link for conversion:-

Hello!
It's funny to get naswer after 5 years :-)
Real problem was in non-cisco switch between AP and controller.
Once I replaced it with cisco 2960 everything turns fine :-)
Thank you!
