CCNA certification and CCNP

Answered Question
Oct 13th, 2008

Good afternoon!

My CCNA certification is about to expire in december. However, I started preparing for CCNP BCMSN examination and I am going to take this exam in next month.

If I pass BCMSN, will I be able to continue CCNP exams, even if my CCNA certificate expires?

Thank you

If you pass the BCMSN before your CCNA expires, this will renew your CCNA. See the following link which says:

"CCNA certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, either pass the current CCNA exam, or pass the ICND2 exam, or pass any 642 professional level or Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a current CCIE written exam."

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.
