Hi,
Is this right that VG-224 can do only sccp protocol while VG-248 additionally supports SIP/H.323/MGCP ?
Anyway, product datasheets states actually these facts.
I'm interested in somebody's practical experiense to confirm this.
Thank you.

no, it's the other way around.
vg224 can be SCCP, MGCP, H323 or SIP, while VG248 is only SCCP

Jaime,
Sorry, I confused. Thank you for your correction.
But my question is the following: is it PRACTICALLY true that the docs say ?
And if yes, why VG-248 can do only SCCP ? I mean VG-224 & VG-248 both run IOS,
but only VG-224 is able to implement a full range of VoIP signaling protocols ?

well, someone already provided the VG 224 data sheet, here is for the VG 248
Cisco VG248 Analog Phone Gateway
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/gatecont/ps2250/products_data_sheet09186a008007c9bb.html
they DO only support what's on the sheets if that's wht you mean by "PRACTICALLY true that the docs say?"
i really cannot answer why VG248 can only do SCCP as i was not the one who created the product or had the idea behind it as to why only SCCP, most probably because it's proprietary and provided the most features and enhancement for analog devices

Hi Tobivan,
The VG248 does not run IOS.
It is a much older unit.
Perhaps this is the reason
Cheers
