problem ip phone 7912 series

Hi everybody

I have a problem, when i connect a ip 7912 phone to a 10 base tx switch, i read phone display ethernet connect with a strange symbol,a telephon with a cross,and i can't ping the telephone and use it. Why?

I have this problem too.

Sorry... it says Ethernet disconnected? If so..

That means that somewhere along the line it is not communicating with the switch...

1) Faulty cat 5 cable

2) Faulty floor / switch port

3) Faulty port in the back of the phone

4) Faulty phone!!

1 of the 2 pairs in the cable is not getting through for whatever reaason, that is why you have got power but cannot ping / see it on the network.

No i read on display i'm connected but i cannot ping it,infact doesn't work,i tried all port of switch 10base tx, but nothing..

Instead i i plug the telephon on switch 10/100 it works well, and the cross symbol go away.

p.s. I have another cisco that works perfectly on that 10base switch...
