Is it possible to load balance 2+ ACS servers behind an ACE module? If so, any special caveats or loss of functionality?

If you have the ACE devices in bridge mode, traffic from the servers will be bridged and not loabalanced to the ACS. You need the ACE devices in router mode so you can set your default gateway pointing to ACE and then ACE can loadbalance the request to the ACS. Within a single context, only 1 ACE can be active.

I'm running in router mode. My question was regarding whether or not the services that the ACS server provides are suitable for load balancing via the ACE. Specifically we use an ACS server for our wireless (LWAPP) infrastructure and we'd like to have multiple active ACS servers behind a load balancer.
