Hi,
I am having a 3524XL switch and I am getting the below error message.
Add address 0004.4d95.9a80, on port 27 vlan 100
I am getting the error message with different address for both addition and deletion and different vlan for same port 27.
Could you please confirm why error is seen on port "27" on a 24 port switch.?
Also what exactly the error corresponds to.
Please provide any good link for the issue.
Thank you,
Peter

Port 27 is logical port number used by STP. 'show spanning-tree' command should show whichphysical port matches with the logical ports your seeing. (ie: Fa0/1 is
port 13)
3500#sh spanning-tree
Interface Fa0/1 (port 13) in Spanning tree 1 is down
Interface Fa0/2 (port 14) in Spanning tree 1 is down
I suspect a layer 2 loop or misconfig causing these errors. Following tech tip should help

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. But if it is a spanning-tree loop the same mac-address should be learned through another port or interface .here I am not getting same mac address in other ports. So please help to identify the exact issue.
Thank you
Peter

Without enabling any debugs we are getting the add and deletion messages.
If we enable udld, will it help.?
Thank you,
Peter
