can someone please explain the channel significance on these test? one port shows A, B, C, D and the other B, A, D, C

The Channel field was added to display the pair designation. The

pairs are named based on the transmission channel in use (as per IEEE

specification clause 40.8)

MDI:

Pair A: Pins 1 and 2

Pair B: Pins 3 and 6

Pair C: (if used) Pins 4 and 5

Pair D: (if used) Pins 7 and 8

MDIX:

Pair A: Pins 3 and 6

Pair B: Pins 1 and 2

Pair C: (if used) Pins 7 and 8

Pair D: (if used) Pins 4 and 5
