I'm trying to set the default SMTP server under CS->Server->Admin->System Prefrences
And it always gives me this error:
Invalid IP address or server name for mail server. Please enter a valid SMTP server name or leave the 'SMTP Server' field blank.
I've tried both FQDN and without Domain name and even just the ip address. I've tried to telnet from CW to the SMTP server on port 25 and that works fine.
What could be causing this?

Then you are hitting CSCsm10925. A patch is available by calling the TAC. This bug is fixed in LMS 3.1.

This is most likely a known bug. What version of Common Services are you using?
